My Story
I’m Gus Montoya, a program management consultant who translates between the technical team and the business side.
After 14+ years leading programs across software (ANSYS), energy production and storage (Ambri), oil & gas and petrochemical (USB research, independent consulting in Germany, HZDR research), nuclear research (MIT), and life sciences (Eli Lilly), I founded MONTOYA ZABALA to help companies deliver their most complex initiatives.
What sets me apart is simple: I evaluate what your team is building AND I lead the program and portfolio to deliver it. Most consultants can do one or the other.

I hold a PhD in Process Sciences from TU Berlin (Cum Laude), a PMP certification from the Project Management Institute, and I’m completing my MBA at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business as a Beta Gamma Sigma honoree.
